PRECIOUS WATER

$

We have no natural access to water on our mountain campus. Families must haul water with a 5-gallon bucket approximately 1 mile from the local water canal.  This water flows down the mountains into a canal where many animals and people bathe.  Dehydration is major contributor to poor health and ability to learn. Illnesses from toxic water cause students to suffer from vomiting, fever, and diarrhea, and missed school days.  Because of this, water is always a necessity in our budget for the school.

  • We have completed 2 attempts at drilling our own well. The drill team drilled down of over 300 feet without success
  • A mission team from South Dakota built a cistern that holds many gallons of water
  • 8 truckloads of water to fill cistern @ $100 a truck load of water
  • Monthly cost of water is approximately $800
